Conservatives celebrating the progressive run public schools they are sending their children to when they cause a ruckus at a school board meeting and maybe get one gay porn book removed from the library is all you need to know about conservatism.

" I assume it’s because they have no power, so they are forced to fall back on their identity as it is the only power they own."

🤌 Nailed it.

It occured to me that if anyone read this and called it "black-pilled," it would be because they need an ideology because they have no other identity

AA did a good video on moving forward without ideology. Keith Woods did an equally good video refuting it. Even though Keith is a super smart kid, I can't help but feel that AA is correct.

If I can be assured that the people in power are my people, then I don't care what political formulations are used for them to gain power as I can be comfortable that my friends will treat me as a friend when they hold power.

Marxist “Liberating tolerance” can be seen carried out against average citizens on the right on a daily basis. The masses accept this and go on about their lives. Not only is ideology meaningless in terms of realpolitik, the notion that it often animates one to noble action is a farce. When perfumed ideology is met with force, ideology walks away with its hands in its pockets while diverting its gaze toward the ground, so to speak. Only faith/belief has the stones to meet raw force, with equal force. Don’t believe me? Start passing out cartoons of Muhammad near a mosque. I want order. I want a fair fight. I want sane government. I want the cops to leave stoners alone and conk shitheels over the head with nightsticks. I want to relax when my wife travels to shitholes for work. I want labor camps for pedos and repeat violent psychos. That kinda stuff. I don’t care how bad the good guys are behind closed doors. A violent pedo rapist and child pornographer was recently arrested in my area. The state cops said they launched the biggest C/P investigation in state history of off his devices. Would you or your neighbors really care if the county sheriff shoved a knife up under his kneecap and inquired about his colleagues? I sure wouldn’t. I want the good guys firmly in power and I no longer care how they get power.

It seems that people glom onto ideology in an attempt to find some direction, meaning, or definition to their lives because they are so disconnected from their family, faith, and immediate culture. I read Icarus Fallen by Chantal Delsol a few months back and she talks a lot about similar things. Two pieces from the book that seem relevant here:

"Western man at the beginning of the twenty-first century... is amazed that everyone is content to live in a world without meaning and without identity, where no one seems to know either why he lives or why he dies. (Icarus Fallen)"

Basically people will grasp for meaning where they can because no one can truly be happy living with no meaning or connection, it's just that people have become so divorced from their local connections (read Bowling Alone, it's a great examination of the dissolution of how local community groups fell apart through the 80s and 90s) or traditional things that gave life meaning outside ones self such as faith and service because of social media that few have a strong enough core to reach out from and will let someone else define it for them.

The other thing that seems especially pertinent is how well the corrupt ruling classes uses those who lack meaning to co-opt their emptiness. Delsol says "Reactive judgment, deprived of thoughtful reflection, engenders fanatical emotion and an absolute priority of feeling over thought." I know plenty of people who have no self reflection skills and are happy to base the entirety of life on emotional reactions and blaming everything but their own shortcomings for why they perceive life to be so unbearable. It's easy to manipulate someone so devoid of intrinsic meaning what party line they need to attach themselves to

These things can ONLY be changed through social and cultural shift. In fact I'd argue on an even smaller basis than that is they can truly only be changed by returning to strong family and small community structures where people are taught things like boundaries, how to pull your weight, how to serve someone else, have conviction, and importantly CONSEQUENCES. Without learning the relationship between your decisions, actions, and the consequences that follow you end up with dysfunctional adults which create a dysfunctional society.

So so true. Ideology is just a way to not have to deal with reality or to deny it. Ideologies are handcuffs and the people in power laugh at those who chain themselves by ideological doctrines.
