I believe the Rubicon has been crossed. I don’t see a way out of the political horror Right-thinking people are currently living through without radical change. A major part of that change is going to be social. Therefore, any ideology that ignores faith, family, and culture, and the social engineers who have declared war on these things is not to be taken seriously. The problem is that not even a well-defined ideology ever becomes a reality.
To quote Samuel T. Francis:
an ideology is independently premeditated because it is formulated prior to the actual investigation of reality through observation, experience, and logical ordering. It thus becomes independent of reality and fixated on its doctrine
I don’t care whether it’s “Conservatism,” “Progressivism,” or “Libertarianism,” what manifests itself is never what is put on paper when “theory” is drawn up. Conservatism looks to conserve something. In reality, the only thing Conservatism conserves is Progressive ideas from 10 years ago. Progressivism seeks progress toward the perfection of humankind, yet part of their agenda is to mutilate human's bodies to achieve this.
And libertarians? They had their chance. More than any other ideology as they had theirs codified in law by the founders of these United States. What did we learn from their “experiment”? That if the libertarian ideology is to be kept long-term, in my opinion, it must be done so through restrictions upon the teaching and promoting of any ideology that would subvert it. Yes, I mean it must be kept through Singapore-type discipline and force. The problem is that this style of discipline and use of force go against the “evolved” libertarian, in-the-box, modern worldview.
What we are left with is something I’ve written and spoken about before: a chosen identity. I care not if it’s Conservatism or Libertarianism, it appears the adherents to these ideologies care more about whether they are identified as such, or not, by the ingroup (I leave out Progressives because they are in power). The Gatekeeping is strong with these two. I assume it’s because they have no power, so they are forced to fall back on their identity as it is the only power they own.
I started this piece by saying that the Rubicon has been crossed. The way through this is by gaining power and realizing that the only way your “ideology” will be implemented is by force and, yes, with threats of violence. Until the opponents of Progressivism not only accept this fact, but wholeheartedly embrace it, the approval of their ingroup identity will continue to be the only “power” they have. And that’s a path to destruction.
Conservatives celebrating the progressive run public schools they are sending their children to when they cause a ruckus at a school board meeting and maybe get one gay porn book removed from the library is all you need to know about conservatism.
" I assume it’s because they have no power, so they are forced to fall back on their identity as it is the only power they own."
🤌 Nailed it.
