This is the Age of Absolute Politics, for the whole form of our life is now a function of power The above quote by Francis Parker Yockey cannot be denied. Taxation beyond 50% for the productive class, record high inflation, etc., etc. You all know what you are experiencing. But what is more insidious is that "we the People" are being subjected to a Regime of Absolute Politics with our very lives treated as a function of power for people who despise us. Living in the Age of Absolute Politics demands that we become political. There is no reason the average person, who is trying to live their lives, raise kids, and provide for their family, should know the names of as many politicians as they do. We are not designed to be political beyond our homes and our communities, and as soon as we do embrace politics beyond what we can control, a part of us that should be focused solely on family and community is diverted from what is most precious to us.
I also call myself "right-wing", but more and more I'm just not ideological at all. It's all fake and gay.
Libertarians like global free markets that are only possible bc the american empire protects shipping routes.
Socialists still see corporations as something separate from politics and believe that uncorruptable angels can somehow do good for the workers.
Conservatives still believe that they aren't the real racists.
I'm content to watch the demographic bubble burst around the world and sip some ice tea as the old bretton woods order crumbles completely.
I don't care about issues, i just want my kinda people to run things. Here's to hoping some elite motherfucker stumbles across the pete quinones show in the youtube algorithm soon.
Historically speaking people have always identified themselves in relation to their closest relationships; who’s wife/husband/son/daughter/parent/sibling am I. It belies how deeply important family and community truly are to being human at baseline
I was going to try and add to your comments but they are so thorough and succinct that all I can say (again) is "thanks, Pete, thanks!" Your humanity and decency is your strength.
I've taken to saying I am right wing as well and leave it at that. I wish we had a new term without all the baggage, something that has it's own positive connotation and doesn't just exist in some sort of dualistic state with leftism like saying Anti Liberal. It would be a huge achievement towards the positive vision if someone could either through some antiquarian means or through pure innovation produce a new descriptor to deprecate the use of right wing.
I bought a copy of Imperium because I keep hearing you mention it, haven't gotten around to even opening it yet as the reading backlog is quite robust but I have high expectations.
This reminds me of a conversation I had with my brothers-in-law over the weekend. We were talking about the China spy balloon and one of them mentioned some politician or another and I said “why do we need to know any of these names?” Absolutely you should be aware, but treating these people like they’re celebrities is just perverse.
Thankfully for me I got to outsource a lot of my thinking to you Pete.
You’ve helped me nurture a solid respect for my marriage, helped me dispense with so much of my unconscious leftism. Choosing the Orthodox Church and not some goofy astroturfed CofE BS was helped along by you. You freed up enough mental bandwidth day to day that I could train and stay fit and that ultimately afforded me the mental clarity to pursue a much higher paying job so my wife can finally quit work (happening in the coming month hopefully)
I see all the shit you get from lolberts on twitter and I thought it’s worth pointing out that for every screeching lolbert there’s a retard like me thats flourishing and you’ve had a hand in it mate.
I use your 'I'm right wing' all the time as an opener and if people pry for more info, I ask their opinion on Lincoln or if they knew what books were burned before explaining further...
For some, politics, political philosophy, sociology, econ., etc. is a hobby, so that is part of who they are and that’s fine; however, that’s all academic (pardon the pun) if we are ruled by a Woke Moral “Majority” who want to impose an unworkable woke multicultural social democracy powered by windmills under the cover of “democracy” (aka elite rule--see Emily Finley’s recent book, _Democratism_).
Who Are You? (No, who are you really?)
