They havent yet denounced antifa, yet are calling for libertarians to be considered domestic terrorists. The hypocrisy is incredible. They are all guilty, by their own standards and just by making this known, to reason with them, just reflecting their attacks is terrorism.
Everything the left does is projection. They have been terrorizing the WORLD for no reason and also for treasons that warrant terror and war. Maybe the most terrifying thing is how successful it has been. I think fighting it is like quicksand, and retreating to avoid the gov is the best option, but they are DAMNing the exits. Leavee is gonna break and hell is gonna pay.
Misguided citizens = domestic terrorist is a pretty ridiculous propaganda effort. They are overshooting on this one, I believe it is already backfiring in uniting their opposition. The part I am sad to admit I agree this is going to make violence more prevalent not less. Either state entities who buy into this shit will create all kinds of avenues for law enforcement to clash with citizens, resulting in at least some death to those who resist, or the destitute will turn to what the destitute often turn to when they feel all options are gone. There will be martyrs, real and manufactured. Opposition propaganda is becoming incredibly important, but also increasingly dangerous to partake in. Informational, economic, and physical security natural rights are under increased pressure. They, whoever they are, are not hiding their disapproval of our criticisms and opposition to their power structure. If they can tag us with a label that drives emotions and sets a mental anchor of being one of the "bad guys", people who deem themselves "good guys" with little to no critical thinking skills will execute their wishes with extreme prejudice. It's a minefield, but one we need to cross, with several million people.
I agree with you guys. Any wrongthink and they’ll stick the label of white supremacist, domestic terrorist, and conspiracy theorist on you indiscriminately, interchangeably, and nonsensically.
To try to answer Pete‘s question of what can you do you combat these deeply anti-reason smears, I’m torn. My rule of thumb for years has been that presidents, elected officials, banksters, and upper level globalists deserve mockery; ordinary people do not. It’s getting more and more difficult for me not to hate the useful idiots (family an friends include) in the same way I do the powerful. I’ve always maintained a rational disposition and a feeling of solidarity with ordinary people I disagree with. I like to remember the Emerson line, “If this aversion had its origin in contempt and resistance like his own, he might well go home with a sad countenance, but the sour faces of the multitude have no deep cause but are put on and off as the wind blows and a newspaper directs.” As they have NO DEEP CAUSE, I ask questions to make them self-aware of the fact they haven’t thought enough about the position that they hold.
For example, I posted to antisocial media a link to a NYT profile of an Olympian swimmer and former Michael Phelpes relay teammate, Klete Keller, who was in the crowd who invaded the capitol building. I said, “If we put all the people who “stormed” the capitol in jail, would that bring progress? If we lock up all the people with bad beliefs, leaving only people with good beliefs, would we live in a harmonious society?”
But yeah, I’ve begun to question this old, principled approach. It feels futile, impotent these days.
