If you were to ask me why I do what I do—podcasting, writing, being a maniac on social media—it would be cliché to say that I feel a "calling." Saying you feel called to do something, especially something as ridiculous as posting memes on social media, is often seen as elevating yourself to the level of some of the greatest men in history.
I think what you're doing is prescient and important and it has been meaningful for me. The shock and dismay of observing my fellow citizens in 2020 drove me into a chaos of personal changes, searching for solutions. It changed everything for me. I found you asking the questions that were in my head and then you took it further. Thank you Pete.
Your take on "calling" (what we Lutherans would call your 'vocation' in the 'kingdom of the left hand') is spot-on. Your observations and actions are exactly what we all need. Keep on fighting my friend.
Your topics are always so close to what I need to hear or what I’m currently going through, it’s no wonder I find myself always gravitating towards your podcast and substack.
Recently I’ve been trying to better understand my authentic self, and its one of the first things I noticed, that for whatever reason I was closely aligned with your worldview because I will always seek out your work. And I would often have this familiar feeling listening to your podcasts or reading your substack.
I know it could also be me post hoc rationalising, but it’s still revealing something meaningful either way.
There are two types of natural contrarians, you are the good kind. There are certain events that change your political perspectives in a single jolt. This time I had a talented personality and creator of like-mind and similar political/ideological/generational background to go through it with. Thank you for that.
I would like to point out that your humility automatically puts you in the ranks of 'great men' when it comes to spreading a truth consciousness in a society that has been so deeply programmed to not have the capacity to see truth.

Glad to be walking with you

If you weren't there with me I would've given up

Thank you, but that's hard to fathom. But it motivates me.
