Sobering Pete, and accurate. Whatever we do, we have to think peaceful, like work stoppages (though admittedly very, very few are prepared for this. But we can at least continue to call for big ideas like secession, that at least gives people a hopeful plausible possibilities post November.
We do face an existential threat and most people are just resisting coming to terms with this. It's almost like a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis, denial is the first step.

-- Is that a reference to, for instance, Franco and the necessary steps he took to protect Spain?
2) "They don't understand where that impulse comes from, thank God we have the 1st Amendment."
-- Is this just referring back to the social engineering that pacifies us into thinking we are protected by that sAcREd document?
