It Was A Sunday And 'Satan' Was Trending On Twitter
"Satan, the leader or dictator of devils, is the opposite, not of God, but of Michael"
Everything about the time we’re living in is bizarre. $4 a gallon gas. People personally invested in a war 6,000 miles away. Satan trends on Twitter… on a Sunday. Honestly, it’s hard to know what hell has been created for us.
At this point, I listen to comedy podcasts and music more than I do current events. I haven’t listened or read anything “theory” based except a bit on mass delusions and how they may form. Any break I can find where I can grasp a bit of sanity I may even travel for.
I enjoy being around people who share the same beliefs and values that I do. This past Saturday I drove two hours to spend time with a few dear old friends while making some new ones. We didn’t all agree on every point of “blah-blah-blah,” but we respect each other. This is something that many people don’t get when the topic of “covenant communities and freedom of association” comes up. Think about an event you went to where everyone shared the same beliefs. How comfortable were you there? I don’t know how many times someone has told me, “This is the first event like this I’ve ever been to and I should’ve gone to one sooner.” Why shouldn’t your immediate polity feel like that?
People don’t do harm to those they have a lot in common with, especially if they’ve chosen that association intentionally. As I type this, I know there are people who immediately jump to thinking this is about racism, classism and every other -ism they’ve been indoctrinated to respond with. And some of you still don’t think Leftism has infiltrated everything, up to and including “libertarianism.” The right to disassociate is a human right. No one should be forced to interact with someone they do not want to no matter what their reason is even if it’s something that you consider tasteless and beyond the pale. Fuck you! Disassociate with that person. See, even you believe in the concept you hypocrite.
Imagine a society where you chose to live and interact with groups of people intentionally. Ask yourself why that would be a bad thing and why it is considered as such in this culture. When I decided to cover this topic, seeing “Satan” trending on Twitter made sense as he is known as The Great Deceiver. We’ve been deceived into believing we have to be forced to associate with people who not only don’t share our values but wish us harm. Someone please explain to me how that is acceptable.
It is incredibly liberating when you realize that you are allowed to decide what relationships you will invest in and which you will just let fade away. We are not required to keep toxic people in our lives and we shouldn't.
Edit: I learned this lesson too late in life, but at least I did.
Reminds me when I hear that places like NYC are melting pots, when in actuality they are closer to those big popcorn tins that have dividers in them.
