'All Politics is Local' Properly Understood
Americans have been trained to believe that if they just elect the right person or persons, real change can be had. Maybe…at the local level. I recently heard someone, who I believe would call themself a “proud Conservative,” imply that if Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was elected president in 2024, he could fix everything wrong with America. In my opinion, fixing everything wrong with America would mean crushing and destroying the Left forever. Unfortunately, the president of the United States does not have that power (and most wouldn’t want it).
What DeSantis has carried out in Florida – basically turning a purple state bright red – is incredible. But, a president has to contend with 50 governors along with 535 legislators. As well as a Supreme Court that would most definitely strike down any diktats DeSantis would look to push by fiat. So even if Ron DeSantis was elected president, any change would be very minor, if anything at all.
When I see the phrase, “All politics is local,” I am reminded that the most local thing I can think of is myself. Politics starts with you, the individual. Then, it moves outward. Do you think of yourself as your own King? Emperor? Senator? Mayor? If you don’t, why not? Are you not able to rule over your own life? And that life includes your family. Does your family view you as their leader? Their inspiration? If not, why?
When I am confronted with someone who is waiting for a President DeSantis to come and save them, I have to wonder what their personal and family situation is like. I do not believe we will see a “Great Man” rise up and save us in our lifetimes. WE must be the “Great Man.” WE must be the Caesar. And that starts at home…with each of us. Now imagine the kind of great strides you would achieve in your “local” area if everyone decided to be their own “Great Man,” and, instead of waiting to be saved, came together and combined forces to fight the enemy we face. It may be just that simple. Maybe.
Very good read. Everyone has been freaking out online over Kanye/Fuentes meeting with Trump that are concerned with Optics with Trump/DeSantis and donors. Everyone is saying "sensible center" and It's like they are speaking a foreign language knowing all the levers of power outlined in this article. For instance, a bureaucrat planted a fake dossier that wasn't even American (UK) that sparked 3 years of the clam licker Rachel Maddow and others going ape shit and physically measuring the distance on the north korean border with Russia when Trump visited the DMZ. That was just the Press and intelligence as I left out the leaks that were fabricated by other "anonymous officials" of other agencies. My small town locked down for a week, chains remained closed while one bar reopened and became the go to place for fiery political/covid discussions. This was despite the Fentanyl Floyd praising Abbott ordering the bars to be shut down. The local sheriff, which grew up in the town, was on our side and I have to agree... the local sheriff is the most important position in all politics.
DeSantis as president would be either blocked at every turn, or eventually killed in office. He’s a lot more knowledgeable and effective than Trump, thus more dangerous to the deep state. He should stay in Florida politics after his term is up and become a power behind the power to elect like-minded people to keep Florida free, or as free as possible. People who expect to be saved by a DeSantis or a Trump are politically lazy and delusional. No one is coming to save us. The most we can expect is small pockets of relative freedom and the rest is up to us.
