There Is No 'Coming Together' Politically

It's a common refrain among many people but especially those with some kind of public platform (this was inspired by a comedian saying it) that "we" needed Trump gone so wounds could be healed and the people can come back together. Who are these people talking about? Are they claiming the country was one big love fest before the evil orange man came down that escalator. Are these people serious or just parroting a trope?

Ignoring the extreme factions on the Left and the Right, do they believe that the people in the cities were in sync with their "country" counterparts in 2014? That their cultures meshed and they found common ground to get in a drum circle for Kumbaya? Show me the proof.

For decades commentators have been writing about the factions in this country and their inability to find common ground. This manifests itself clearly every time an election happens. The cities (for the most part) go blue and the rural areas go red.

Face it; the only thing these groups have in common is that most were born within a geographic land mass. No, wait, they do have something else in common; when it comes to voting they choose the people they believe will punish their domestic enemies. Not all, but enough do this; enough to make elections a low-intensity Civil War.

Think about the stories we've heard in the last 4 years of people disowning family members for supporting Trump, or whomever. Do you believe Trump caused that or that it was already there and Trump pushed them over the edge? These are two factions, literal enemies living within a border, vying for the ring of power every 2-4 years.

People coming together to heal? How blind do you have to be? Even if you are just repeating a trope because that's what's expected of you, wouldn't it make you feel like an idiot. Probably not for these people. They spent the last four years miserable over a process that is out of their hands. Maybe we should expect nothing but drivel from them.

Hardly anybody is dying from covid and lockdowns are getting worse. The narrative is that now that Trump is (effectively) gone, we can get shit done.

The left and media have been saying for 4 years that EVERYBODY WHO VOTED FOR TRUMP IS A RACIST NAZI. So how do we find common ground now? Harris called Biden a racist but 'that was just a debate'. She openly admits to lying to score political points, but she's fit to lead (we all know she will soon enough).

Before he leaves office, I want him to, for one day, do the ultimate troll and declare himself female, becoming the first woman president of the USofA...and there is nothing they could do about it.
