Occasionally I apologize that I no longer take the easy way out, that my solutions to today’s ills/issues/insanities do not involve posting on social media all day that “the State should be abolished along with all of its institutions!” If that’s what you feel compelled to do, have at it. Scream at the clouds and entertain an in-group that is accomplishing nothing. How anyone could go through COVID and believe posting “the CDC should be abolished” will make any difference is a clear example of why the State continues to grow at alarming rates. Virtue signaling to your friends solves nothing. There are real-world actions being taken and while I do not necessarily agree with all of them, at least these actions go beyond screaming about something that isn’t going to happen - the State is not going to disappear. (If you need an appeal to authority see episode 109 of my podcast in which Walter Block clearly takes that position.)
The threat we face is both dangerous and delusional. But they are organized and highly motivated. Not the best combination. Just look at the reaction to the recent Roe v. Wade reversal that did nothing other than overturn a poorly made decision. The number of people on the lunatic Left who decided “nigger” is now an appropriate term to be used in the public square was unsurprising to some but still rather shocking.
The Left exists on rage and threats. How many people are scared to use guns to protect themselves knowing that the rioters, looters and murderers are protected by Soros DA’s/the ruling elite and they themselves would be prosecuted? I know, I know, some of you wouldn’t think twice.
The ideological response many had to what DeSantis was doing in Florida caused them to miss the bigger picture. DeSantis, maybe more than any other figure in recent history, exposed the radical, loony Left for what they are. Leaving aside for the moment the fact he exposed and destroyed much of the power of the crony corporations in Florida, the “groomer-Left’s” reaction to his admittedly milquetoast laws should have awakened those who have refused to engage in the culture wars. How could you not see what the Left was fighting for?
Is this supposed to be an anti-DeSantis meme? He should use it in his re-election campaign. But what is the issue here? I didn’t even know if my teachers were married most of the time growing up. Maybe if a teacher went by Mrs., sure. But none had pictures of their spouses in plain view straight or gay. Schools can’t dictate what a student wears? What if a student wanted to wear a shirt that had the Left’s new word for Clarence Thomas on it? Or, a MAGA hat? We know that was made verboten in many school districts so why not the rainbow which has become as politicized as any other symbol?
The most important part of this meme to me is the last part. I have made many posts about teachers being adamantly opposed to students telling their parents that they think they may be gay. They coach students to remain silent because parents aren’t “evolved enough” to know how to deal with it. So, who is? The teacher? And why? Oh, because they’re gay. There can’t be an agenda there? I mean, what if the parent is a Christian? That’s bad, right? These people believe they know what is better for your children than you do. That’s it, end of story.
Look, these people are united, well-financed and ideologically possessed. Many of the people I know are ideologically possessed as well but don’t possess the former and are dead set against using the levers of power which your enemy has no qualms in pulling. It’s time to get over that. As insane as these people are, they are winning. And it’s because they believe they’re right and are willing to use any tool/manipulation available to implement their ideas. There is nothing more deranged than believing you possess an ideology that could fundamentally change the world for the better but not being willing to do anything to implement it. Think about that. As the world burns you believe you have the answers but aren’t willing to do whatever it takes to save the world while choking on the ashes with those around you. I can find no excuses for not wanting to at least try other than you really don’t believe what you’re saying and it’s just a LARP to you. The enemy has clearly presented itself. Identifying them is the first step. The next logical step is to get to work finding like-minded people who are willing and able to take action.
This is what I’ll never understand about some of the lolberts. I still consider myself a libertarian in theory, but to believe that we can just read down every institution and everything will be fine is insane. The people occupying most of these institutions are , as you say, ideologically possessed. That energy will go somewhere regardless of whether the institutions still exist. Power can’t be created or destroyed, only changed.
You consistently nail down what we all have floating around our heads.
