Something To Ponder - This Is Important
I was speaking with someone recently (not mentioning a name as I did not get permission to use it) and the conversation turned to the state of society, or rather, the state of libertarianism. This person told me, and I am paraphrasing here, that they were no longer a libertarian as the margin today is those who want to line people up against a wall for what they believe, and those that donāt.
Now, many will most likely jump on the ānot wanting to line people up against a wall and say, āwell thatās libertarianism, the non-aggression principle!ā Is it though? Itās not libertarianism, but it is how most people in the world live their lives. The average person in any country isnāt intentionally about using direct or even political violence to harm others (sorry, most people donāt recognize that government is violence and are voting, supporting, etc. out of ignorance, just going along with the status quo).
So, if we are at the point that there is a large segment of the population who are for freedom of speech, firearm ownership, and in many cases, even secession; and there is a small segment - with people placed in the highest positions of power - who believe anyone who questions the 2020 presidential election is a traitor and should be lined up against a wall and taken care of, who is your natural ally?
Libertarian ideology is strong, but we are nowhere near even a small percentage that can move the needle. Maybe staying alive and making sure the U.S. doesnāt turn into late, nineteen-teens Petrograd is priority number one. Something to ponder.
