Last night I did a Livestream with my friend Jason Rink who is a documentary filmmaker and one of the most fearless people I know. He’s been on my show before and talked about his documentary "The Steal,” about his time traveling with the ‘Stop the Steal’ movement, as well as “Q Sent Me,” about the QAnon Shaman Jacob Chansley. Jason decided to do a 21 minute documentary titled, “The Most Canceled Man in America (TMCMiA),” about Nick Fuentes. The short documentary highlights how Nick was put on the no-fly list and had $500,000 seized from his bank account by the Justice Department without any charges being filed against him. They just took it.
Jason submitted TMCMiA to the Anthem Film Festival that is a part of the yearly event ‘Freedom Fest’. It was accepted, Jason was scheduled to be on a panel, and there was even talk of Nick attending and answering questions. Freedom Fest announced on Twitter that they were going to show the documentary, and, albeit prematurely, that Nick was going to attend. That’s when the “Libertarians” sprung into action. Jason has a recorded phone call between himself and the organizers of Freedom Fest in which it is revealed that Reason, CATO and the pre-LPMC takeover Libertarian Party, along with a couple others, lobbied the festival to cancel the showing of TMCMiA. Apparently, these organizations which advocate for “liberty and free speech", don’t believe that applies to anyone to the Right of John McCain. I’m sure if a communist advocating for the “dictatorship of the proletariat” were being highlighted it would be fine.
I want to share a Tweet put out by the Freedom Fest account that highlights their cowardice, and frankly, leftist/communist sympathies.
The first 80% is bullshit, wah, wah, wah. The last sentence though, that’s a fucking masterpiece. No, equality is NOT an inherent aspect of freedom but freedom of association is! These morons want nothing to do with someone like Fuentes so they refuse to associate with him. But if Fuentes doesn’t want to associate with people who he thinks don’t share his values that’s a bridge too far. Why? Because he is associated with the Right. If he were a Black Nationalist associating with the Left, saying he didn’t want to associate with white people, it would be perfectly fine to these “respectable libertarians.”
Look, I think some people are vile and I choose not to associate with them. I’ve never thought to disrupt their income, etc. That’s what leftists do. So, I can only assume Libertarian Inc. is an extension of progressivism and the degenerate culture it promotes. And those are people I really don’t want to associate with. What does that make me?
I attended Freedom Fest last year and enjoyed much of it, but I think Dave Smith (the host) summarized the show perfectly when during his off site standup routine he said "if I have to pretend these Republicans care about liberty one more time I'm going to lose my mind" and the entire room agreed. I did generally enjoy the show as I got to see a lot of people I know and meet some others that were great.
It's not that it isn't a "libertarian" show, the problem is...it is. It's a Libertarian Inc show.
I still believe the greatest question you can ask anyone who says they are a liberty supporter is do you support the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Nobody should, but I bet at best you'd get some hemming and hawing out of most libertarians even. They believe it forces them to stand with racists in opposing it, so principle has nothing to do with their consideration of it. Society creating a punishment zone for beliefs these days doesn't help of course, nobody wants to be canceled.
God bless Jason for what he is doing, and fuck the LP as any kind of serious vehicle for change in America.
Also worth asking, who doesn't enjoy an INTERESTING subject and its coverage? I don't care what you think about Nick Fuentes, you don't think that story is at the very least INTERESTING? If you don't, you're fucked already.
