Look, a lot of us want to believe we’re above things that society portrays as common. Most people don’t want to embrace the term "normie" when it comes to themselves. One of the ways many people express their "rebelliousness" is by claiming that they’re politically independent. They say they’re neither Left nor Right; they’re above all of that.
In my experience, anyone who makes this claim holds Leftist political values. I make a point to ask anyone claiming to be "above it all" what right-wing political positions they hold. 99% of the time, they will say they don’t hold right-wing positions because they’re independent. The 1% who do name a right-wing position always name one that the Right agrees with the Left on, like a nebulous term such "capitalism." The center is always the Left, and if they say they’re right-wing classical liberals, they’re still on the Left because liberalism in all its forms is on the Left.
Leftism always leads to chaos. The fact that the United States doesn’t really have a right-wing, just a group that calls itself right-wing while touting classical liberal or Progressive values from ten years ago, should open your eyes to the current situation. At this point, if you’re not concentrating on bringing order to your home and advocating for order in your community, you may have bought into leftist ideology. When the world is in chaos, your home life must be orderly. Choose order. It’s the first step in changing the world around you.
Lol, this was a morning bathroom thought i had today. I was kinda chuckling about how much hate fast liberals (progressives) have for slow liberals (conservatives) and vice versa.
I concur with most of this, but I’ll add the caveat that there are certainly some scared conservatives that will claim to be “independent” when surrounded by liberals/progressives/leftists - typically in a professional or social situation.
