In the last 7 weeks I’ve flown 4 times. I went to NYC, never wore a mask anywhere I went except on the Subway, and everything was OK.
I flew to Jeckyll Island for the Mises Supporters Summit and was generally pressed into the presence of swarms of people who weren’t suffering “Mask-Hysteria.” No reports of anyone even testing positive from that event.
A week later I flew to Orlando for a party at Tom Woods’ house. There was a sign that met you when you walked through the door announcing, “Welcome To The Old Normal.” Well over 100 people. No masks, no reports of positive tests. All clear.
I currently sit in a restaurant in Houston’s Hobby airport after attending yet another Mises event in which over 100 people were crowded into a rather small venue. Again mask-less, and I don’t expect to hear of any cases coming from this spectacular gathering.
I don’t know… maybe liberty seeking people are immune. Maybe we’re just lucky. Or maybe, just maybe, we’ve been subjected to what Ron Paul called in March a “hoax.” What I do know is that life is worthless unless you can do what makes you happy. Maybe that’s the key? Happy people, going on with their lives, not living in fear are immune. Is that scientific? At this point it makes as much sense as anything coming from the “experts.”
Sounds like super-spreading events of sanity and liberty.
I'm in Brazil and for professional reasons (yes, I didn't stop working because I can't afford to) I fly a lot, all over the country: April - 2 flights, May-4, June-6, July-11, August-7, September-14, October-13, November-8 so far. Masks are mandatory indoors, and I only use it in those situations where there is no escape. In airports, I buy a coffee or a bottle of water and make it last until it's time to board just to keep the mask off. No corona so far.
