The lockdowns and everything we've been subjected to would never have been tolerated if people were happy with their own lives. They would've demanded they be allowed to keep living, but their lives are so empty a fucking cold gave them a sense of purpose like they were fighting fucking Nazis. Sad, little, miserable people.

I assumed everyone would’ve just grown complacent by now. Boy was I wrong. I mean sure there’s a silent majority that has.
But I just assumed that it would’ve been wider spread.
There will be no concerted uprising, though. Everyone is waiting for somebody else to start the boogaloo. But no one will. The only uprising will be roving groups of marauders coordinated minimally to incite unrest and destroy civility in urban areas.
All the people that live in the imaginary land where a group of citizens would form a well organized militia to overthrown the government, will just keep going to work and paying their mortgages. They’re not ready for discomfort. They were born in painted houses with manicured surrounds and lots of right angles, and they’ll keep it that way as long as they can.
The ones that do take it seriously and are ready to boogaloo will all die quietly in the night under a boot after a no-knock raid. The news outlets will squeeze in a little mention on page 7 that a domestic terrorist group of white supremacists was foiled in their attempt to do something terrible. And that will weed out the radicals over time.
The American people are so far removed from what real adversity looks like.
Even if some are fulfilled enough to not get caught up in the COVID culture, their bills will keep them tame and inactive.
I always used to talk to this worker at Costco. From talking to him I assumed he was more left leaning. In February when COVID hysteria began, a jokingly laughed to him about how ridiculous I thought it all was. He looked at me like I was insane. Jaw dropped and everything. Yesterday, months later, I see him and as I was reaching to pick up a package of ground beef, he told me I better stock up, because everything was going to get crazy again.
I totally sensed he loved it. This virus has given this guy some strange sense of meaning. Pathetic.
