When the George Floyd riots started I wished I had the old school, stove top Jiffy Pop Popcorn because I knew it was going to be one hell of a ride. And it was. For those of us who foresaw the cluster-fuck before the first small business was burned to the ground, or the first of 19+ people were murdered, we knew what we were going to be labeled when we spoke out against the riots.
What needs to be addressed first, however, is the metrics laid out by many libertarians in response to the George Floyd protests and the January 6, 2021 Capitol “event.” According to the metrics, last summer’s “protests” were riots, with multiple murders by protesters. Meanwhile the “assault on the Capitol” was “mostly peaceful” with the only recorded death, by the hands of another person, executed by a Capitol police officer. I missed the outrage over the January 6 murder by much of the libertarian, pro- Black Lives Matter (BLM) faction. Any libertarian outraged by January 6th, but not the George Floyd riots is absurdly inconsistent. Perhaps they will make the argument that if Ashli Babbitt had not been in the Capitol she would still be alive. And, perhaps if George Floyd had not attempted to pass a counterfeit bill the same could be said.
Going back to what those of us who decried the George Floyd riots knew we were going to be accused of, I have been referred to as everything from a white supremacist, holocaust denier, racist and on and on by so-called libertarians. One libertarian in particular, some reading this may know his name, explicitly told me on Facebook that my lack of support for BLM was clear evidence I wished I could own slaves. This person happens to co-host a show with a black female who routinely treats him like shit - which I assume is some sort of fetish for him - so my assumption is that he is either playing a role, or is completely cucked. Either way, he can go fuck himself.
I can almost understand wanting to support PROTESTS against the police in the wake of the release of the George Floyd overdose video. Many consistent libertarians understand that the method of policing carried out in this country is by design a violation of the Non-Aggression Principle (NAP) - which one might argue demands daily protest even in the absence of a despicable police video. But, apparently, these libertarians fail to apply the NAP when it comes to protests that turn into riots, either because of their hatred of law enforcement, or their fear of being called racists for not supporting a strategically named group such as “Black Lives Matter.” Even if you supported the protests, as soon as anything in its wake began to violate basic property rights, you should have withdrawn your support, and denounced the destruction being rained down. Much of Kenosha, Wisconsin was on fire on the evening news and MANY libertarians remained silent.
A common refrain from last year, when it was pointed out that the leadership of BLM were avowed Marxists, was that the “movement” on the street was different than the organization. I don’t want to give much time to this subject because it’s so anti-intellectual, but I couldn’t believe intelligent people I know personally ran with it. Many who were marching may well have had no association with the BLM organization, but those organizers on the ground did as I proved in this piece. Yet, to this day, libertarians continue to support a group whose “protests” turn into violence and are directed by “trained Marxists.”
I caught a ton of shit last year when I told people to stop referring to me as a libertarian. It’s not that I didn’t want to be pigeon-holed - which I still don’t - but that the term came to be associated with the Far Left and I don’t want to be affiliated with them any more than I want to be with the Far Right. And that highlights another problem I have with these Bitch-Ass Libertarians. If this anti-police movement had started from the Right, it would’ve been shunned by most. Even if they didn’t, as soon as it turned violent, or as soon as a confederate flag was waved by a protester, these people would have abandoned ship. The hammer and sickle flags are obviously not a deal-breaker for them as many were spotted at the “protests.” Apparently communism isn’t a problem, but secessionist movements are. But muh slavery! Shut…the…fuck…up - Bitch! You showed your true colors and I’m not going to forget it absent some good, old-fashioned repentance for your sins. I’m waiting…
I always like to ask left “libertarians” how their current woke program advances our society to that glorious day under AnCap when private discrimination lawsuits are abolished because they violate the NAP, absent a community by-law to the contrary. Racist racist racist.
We saw those right wing anti-police movements starting just before the george floyd killing. We know they pick and choose which of these police incidents to prop up, it was easier for them to trick them into saying "riots bad, police good" then call them racists.
